Prerequisites

The prerequisites for launching in this adventure are:

 

- motivation : 

 

Before you start, you better be sure you will not stop at the first hurdle. And believe me even if my site will help you, you will have difficulties to overcome.

 

 - Having time : 

 

Obviously it takes a bit of time. But all depends from each one, if you want to make a     gyropode in one month, you will need a lot of availability, but if like me you do not give yourself a dateline,     time is not a problem, you always arrive to find some time in the evening or during the weekends.

 

 - a little bit of money : 

 

Of course even if the cost will be much lower than a Segway commercial, the cost remains high. I consider the cost between 400 € and 700 € (about $ 520 - $ 910) depending on the country and selected options. I would detail my expenses on this website so that you can validate your buget before starting. Obviously at this price so do not expect the same performances as a segway. Solicitating true in terms of autonomy, but, if you have the means, you can opt for lithium batteries to increase the autonomy.

 

 - be serious : 

 

Would come back several times on this subject, careful not to neglect safety. The failure of a mechanical or electronic part could be dangerous if you are on the gyropode. So always keep this in mind when you choose or when your realization.

 

 - know tinker : 

Know tinker and have a minimum of tools at home.
